About Us

TAKE A MOMENT TO GET TO KNOW US

Launched in 2019, Dorking Men’s Shed is a welcoming community space where men come together to connect, converse, and create. The activities are designed to help reduce loneliness and isolation, but most importantly, they’re fun.

Our why

Feeling isolated or lonely? Feeling depressed or down? Feeling bored and uninspired? Keen to learn new practical skills? Or perhaps looking for new friends with similar interests?

If any of the above sound familiar to you or somebody you know, come along and see us.

In the UK, around 1 in 8 men suffer from mental health problems. As men, we know we’re not very good at talking to others when we’re facing difficult times, or perhaps adjusting to a significant change in situation.

We've created this community to help men to connect, converse and create, with activities similar to those of garden sheds and workshops. We have a variety of activities and projects to get involved in so there is something there for everyone.

We encourage all local men over 18 to visit the shed a few times when we have sessions on. When you are more acquainted with shed life, you can join as a member. The annual cost for membership is £60 per year. If a single payment would be difficult for you please speak to us.

Our supporters

A special thank you to The Dorking Butchery for their ongoing support for our monthly BBQs.
